Soul Cremation was mostly recorded during the summer of 2006 in the garage turned amateur recording studio of vocalist Ingólfur Ólafsson. Due to post-production issues the demo was not released until nearly a year later. This demo exhibits Severed Crotch's initial journey from old-school death metal into a more modern style.
